Yesterday’s Pepper Biscuits

Hey guys!
Here is the second part of yesterday’s meal!
The biscuits turned out great!
I’ve had this recipe written down from high school and yesterday was the first time I actually attempted it outside of the classroom!
I like to put a decent amount of pepper in this recipe because we like the extra kick, but you can limit how much you put in depending on your preference.

What you will need:

2 cups flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup cold shortening
1 cup milk
2-3 tablespoons of pepper (I used a four pepper blend)

Directions:

First, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, pepper, and salt in a bowl. Cut the shortening into the mix with a pastry cutter. Slowly pour in the milk into the mixture until everything is smooth. Put the dough out onto a floured surface, and roll it out to about an inch thick. Use a biscuit cutter or a glass to cut the biscuits. Put the biscuits on a cookie sheet and bake at 425 for 15-17 minutes depending on your oven. Make sure the tops are a nice golden brown and enjoy!

I hope you enjoy the recipe! :)

XO

  2. Oooo these sound good! I have never made homemade biscuits before unless Pillsbury counts but I did make homemade sugar roll cookies so I could prob pull this off.

    1. For a long time the Pillsbury ones were my "go-to" as well! But trust me, they are very easy to make! Let me know if you try the recipe out! :)
